11月の誕生花：スプレーマム/ Birth flower in November: Spray Mum！

今回は、11月の誕生花「スプレーマム」をご紹介します！

■　原産地：アメリカ
日本原産ですが、アメリカで品種改良されたものがあります。スプレーマムはアメリカで改良されたため、「西洋菊」「洋菊」とも呼ばれます。学名のChrysanthemum（クリサンセマム）を略して「マム」と呼ばれるようになりました。
■　楽しむポイント
スプレーマムとは、たくさん種類のある菊の中でも、ガーデンマムと並ぶ洋菊の一種として知られています。
スプレーマムはアメリカで改良されただけあり、カラーが明るく華やかな印象です。仏花に使われる菊とはかなり印象に差があります。一重咲きだけでなく、八重咲、ポンポン咲きなどボリューミーな派手なものがあるのも特徴です。
・スプレーマムはドライフラワーにすることが可能
通気性の良いところに逆さまにして吊るします。すると約２週間ほどでドライフラワーになります。ドライフラワーで、長くお花を楽しめます。

Spray mums can be made into dried flowers.
Hang them upside down in a well-ventilated place. They will then become dried flowers in about two weeks. With dried flowers, you can enjoy the flowers for a long time.
